Strength

I pray for the strength

to choose others over myself

and live a hard life of triumph

rather than an easy life of persistence

I pray for the stamina

to stay true, even when I am spent

to rebound from suffering, 

that I may suffer more and learn

and in that suffering to always see joy

I pray to create art and serve

and not let me personal desires

for love and happinesss

stop me from a life

I would say I was proud to live

Oh, Lord!
