Longing for Longing

to be human

is to feel thy heart burn

for all it cannot have

until it is a crisp

to feel thy heart liquifies

poisoned with

“seeking what it can’t have”

to hate the enforcers 

of separation from the beloved

even if those two entities

are one and the same
